Episode Summary
A reclusive man in his thirties dies in a traffic accident and wakes up as a baby in a world of swords and sorcery, still carrying every memory of his wasted old life. Teaching himself magic from the family's only textbook, he floods a room by accident, sends his parents into a squabble over his future, and ends up with a small, prickly tutor named Roxy who soon realises her pupil is no ordinary toddler.

💡 can't possibly ~ は〜のはずがないと強く否定。know better は分別があるです。

意味どうにも頭が追いつかない。
💡 wrap one's brain (head) around ~ は〜を理解する・のみ込む。主語を省いた口語の独白です。
The amount of mana someone has is basically fixed at birth.
意味人が持つ魔力の量は、基本的に生まれつき決まっている。
💡 fixed at birth は生まれたときに決まっている。受け身で一般論を述べる書き言葉の形です。
I don't trust my genes to do much heavy lifting.
意味自分の遺伝子に大仕事は期待していない。
💡 do the heavy lifting はいちばん大変な部分を担う。trust ~ to … は〜が…すると当てにするです。

💡 misinterpret は解釈を誤る。自分の読み違いを疑う、冷静な言い方です。

失礼を先回りして詫びる、とてもていねいな前置き。目上の人に意見するときや立ち入った質問をするときに使えます。
他にも使える例：
can't possibly ~（〜のはずがない）He can't possibly know better at his age.
あの歳で分かっているはずがありません。
possibly で can't を強め、可能性をきっぱり否定します。I can't possibly ~ は「とても〜できない」とていねいに断るときにも使えます。
他にも使える例：
It's (still) too soon to ~（〜するにはまだ早い）But it's still too soon to draw conclusions.
結論を出すにはまだ早い。
too ~ to … の形で時期尚早を示します。判断を保留したいときに、会議や報告でそのまま使える言い回しです。
