Episode Summary
Eighty percent of the world is born with a superpower, and being a hero has become a profession. Izuku Midoriya is one of the twenty percent without a Quirk, and everyone — his childhood friend Katsuki, his teacher, even the doctor — tells him a hero is out of reach. Then a sludge villain grabs him, All Might saves him, and Izuku finally gets to ask the only question that matters.

🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
With the rise of superpowers came an explosive increase in criminal activity.
An increase came with ~ が素直な語順なのに対し、With ~ came …
- With the new law came a wave of complaints.(新法とともに苦情が殺到した)
- With success came new problems.(成功とともに新しい問題が生まれた)
PATTERN 2
Those who performed the best were paid the most and got all the fame and glory.
those は複数扱いなので動詞も複数形(× Those who works)。
- Those who arrive early get the best seats.(早く来た人がいい席を取れる)
- Those who can, do.(できる者は、やる)
PATTERN 3
It's safe to say (that) + 主語 + 動詞(〜と言って差し支えない)
It's safe to say your son isn't going to develop a Quirk.
- It's safe to say the trend is over.(この流行は終わったと言っていい)
- It's safe to say we underestimated it.(見くびっていたと言って差し支えない)
🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase

If anything ~
- I'm not tired. If anything, I feel sharper than usual.
- It didn't hurt sales. If anything, it helped.
- If anything, the second half was better.
The delay wasn't a problem. If anything, it gave us time.(遅れは問題ではなかった。
