Episode Summary

Odokawa, a walrus cabbie who can't sleep and can't quite connect, ferries Tokyo's night crowd — a college kid desperate to go viral, a comedy duo arguing on the radio, a nurse who tips too much information — while the news repeats one story: a high school girl has gone missing in Nerima. A detective wants his dash cam footage, a gangster named Dobu wants a word, and everyone seems to think the odd driver knows more than he says.

cut to the chase / go missing / link ~ to …

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

While details remain secret, the police believe she may have been involved in an incident.

PATTERN 2

Unless +

Unless you like getting gunned down by criminals.

中は肯定形のままにするのが要点(× unless you don't like)。

PATTERN 3

What do + 主語 + look like?(〜はどう見える?)

Hey, old Odokawa. What do I look like to you? A gorilla? Well, you're not wrong.

How does it look? What does it look like?

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

cut to the chase

get to the point とほぼ同じ意味ですが、cut to the chase のほうが「バッサリ」という勢いが出ます。Let me cut to the chase. / I'll cut to the chase. 命令形 Cut to the chase.
