Episode Summary
Charce tells his story: raised inside the castle as the clone of Noah Vix, king of Vixia, drilled from childhood to hand his body over one day, and finally ordered to die in space. In flashback, Princess Seira opposes her father's plan and smuggles her own newborn clone out of Vixia with a handmaid named Emma — the child who grows up as Aries. After Seira is killed and Charce is locked away, he takes the mission. The crew refuse to let him go, and when he opens the sphere, Kanata dives straight into it.

- Growing up, that mission was drilled into me.
- Safety rules were drilled into us on day one.

🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
A mere vessel, I was not permitted to have goals.
I was a mere vessel, so ~ と二文で言うのに対し、A mere vessel, ~ は前置きとして置くだけ——because も and も要らないのが違い。
- A newcomer, she asked a lot of questions.(新入りだった彼女は、よく質問した)
- A doctor himself, he knew what to expect.(自身も医師である彼は、先が読めていた)
PATTERN 2
nothing to do but + 動詞の原形(〜するしかない)
I had nothing to do but count the bricks in my prison.
There's nothing to do but wait.(待つしかない)が最頻出の形です。
- There was nothing to do but apologize.(謝るしかなかった)
- We have nothing to do but wait for the results.(結果を待つほかない)
PATTERN 3
Together, we shall live forever!
- You shall have my answer tomorrow.(明日、必ず返事をする)
- This agreement shall remain in effect.(本契約は効力を有するものとする)
🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase
★ TODAY'S PHRASE
sweep ~ under the rug
- The complaint was swept under the rug.
- Don't sweep this under the rug — we need to talk about it.
- The report was quietly swept under the rug.
They swept the whole thing under the rug.(あの件はまるごと握りつぶされた)のように非難の色をはっきり帯びます。
