Episode Summary

Charce tells his story: raised inside the castle as the clone of Noah Vix, king of Vixia, drilled from childhood to hand his body over one day, and finally ordered to die in space. In flashback, Princess Seira opposes her father's plan and smuggles her own newborn clone out of Vixia with a handmaid named Emma — the child who grows up as Aries. After Seira is killed and Charce is locked away, he takes the mission. The crew refuse to let him go, and when he opens the sphere, Kanata dives straight into it.

🔥 Must-Know Expressions 10 expressions |

01

count ~ in

  • Sounds nice. You can count me in.
  • If you're going hiking, count me in.

Count me out.

02

convince ~ that …

  • You'll never convince me that we aren't friends!
  • He convinced us that the plan would work.

03

have no doubt about ~

  • You love us, I have no doubt about that.
  • I have no doubt about her ability.

I'm sure が主観なのに対し、have no doubt about ~ は疑う余地をつぶしている——否定を通した強さが違い。 (I have no doubt that ~)。

04

keep up

  • Wait, I can't keep up!
  • Slow down — I can't keep up.

with ~ で相手を足せ(keep up with the news=情報に遅れずにいる)、Keep it up!

05

refuse to ~

  • I refuse to lose anyone else, do you hear me?
  • She refused to sign it.

(The door refuses to close.)。

06

want ~ dead

  • They want you dead, you moron.
  • Someone wanted him dead.

同じ型で want it done / want it ready と仕事の指示にも使えます。

07

have a chance to ~

  • You finally got out of that castle and had a chance to see new worlds.
  • I never had a chance to thank her.

08

make the choice to ~

  • But you can make the choice to change!
  • She made the choice to start over.

09

keep ~ hidden

  • I kept the sphere generation device hidden.
  • She kept the letter hidden for years.

同じ型で keep it closed / keep it running と状態を指定できます。

10

run headlong into ~

  • He's always running headlong into things.
  • Don't run headlong into a fight.

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

名詞 + or not(〜であろうとなかろうと)

King or not, it's still a crime.

Even if he is a king が節で言うのに対し、King or not は二語で済む——短く突き放せるのが違い。冠詞は付けません(× A king or not)。

PATTERN 2

Don't tell me (that) + 主語 + 動詞(まさか〜じゃないよね)

Don't tell me that's what you really want!

Is that what you want?

PATTERN 3

Yeah, and I'm no longer the girl my mother raised me to be.

no longer だけで否定になるので、not と重ねてはいけません(× isn't no longer)。

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

count ~ in

I'll join. Dinner on Friday? Count me in.(金曜の食事? Count me out. for ~ / on ~ をうしろに足せば何にどう加わるのかまで言えます(count me in on the plan)。
