Episode Summary

With a storm rolling in and one enemy left standing, the guild splits into those who stay behind to guard the wounded and those who storm the airship of the old man who runs the dark guild. Their best combined attack barely ruffles him, a clock-shaped spirit turns up just in time to save the day, and the old man drops the awkward revelation that he used to run their guild before their own master did.

第117話の実際のセリフから、中級で押さえたい文法を3つ。

PATTERN 1

Don't take this the wrong way, but ~（悪く取らないでほしいけど）

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think your danger detection thingy needs an overhaul.

言いにくい指摘の前に置くクッション。take ~ the wrong way は〜を悪く受け取る。友人や同僚への率直な助言を角を立てずに切り出せます。

他にも使える例：

I guess it'd be a major problem if it started moving.

it'd は it would。仮定法過去でまだ起きていないことを想像する形です。I guess を付けるとくだけた推測になります。

悪い状況の中の救いを探す言い方。at least を文頭に置くと「まあ、〜だけはましだ」という前向きな響きになります。
