Fairy Tail フェアリーテイル

星霊の鍵を集める少女ルシィが、火を食べて戦う魔導士ナツと出会い、暴れん坊ぞろいのギルド「フェアリーテイル」に飛び込む——真島ヒロの漫画を原作に、2009年から放送された長寿ファンタジー。制作は A-1 Pictures/サテライト。

この作品の英語がおもしろいのは、会話の幅がとにかく広いこと。仲間どうしの軽口、店での値段交渉、評議会の硬い議論、師が弟子に語る訓示まで、くだけた口語と改まった言い方が同じ回に同居します。戦いの場面より日常のやりとりが厚いのも特徴で、「急かす」「なだめる」「断る」「ねぎらう」といったそのまま使える型がまとめて拾えます。
