Episode Summary
The master's estranged grandson, who only came to visit a grave, strolls in and gives the old man of the dark guild more trouble than anyone expected. Back at camp two leftover enemies launch a sneak attack and three young women out-scheme a very vain opponent, while the members left at home grumble about how dull the guild is without its stars. In the end the grandson hands all his power to the fire mage and tells him to finish the job.

表現of ~'s caliber〜ほどの実力の
💡 caliber は「口径」から転じて「力量・器」。of ~'s caliber で「〜ほどの実力の」と人材の格を表します。
例文
It's rare to find a pianist of her caliber.
彼女ほどの実力のピアニストはめったにいない。
Defense Enchantments can't have even the tiniest of holes, or they'll be rendered useless.
訳防御術式は、ほんのわずかな穴でもあれば無意味になってしまう。
表現be rendered useless役に立たなくなる
💡 render は「〜の状態にする」。be rendered useless で「無用の長物と化す」。become useless より改まった書き言葉です。
例文
Without updates, the software will be rendered useless.
更新しなければ、そのソフトは使い物にならなくなる。
We can't risk him using a Body Link spell and giving away our location.
訳あいつがボディリンクを使って、俺たちの居場所をばらすのは避けなきゃな。
表現give away one's location居場所を明かしてしまう
💡 give away は「（秘密を）うっかり漏らす」。can't risk ~ing（〜する危険は冒せない）と組んで警戒を表しています。

They must've traced our whereabouts somehow!!
訳どうにかして私たちの居場所を突き止めたに違いない！
表現trace one's whereabouts〜の居場所を突き止める
💡 trace は「たどる・追跡する」、whereabouts は「所在」。報道や捜査で頻出の改まった組み合わせです。
例文
The police traced the suspect's whereabouts through his phone.
警察は電話から容疑者の居場所を突き止めた。
Besides, thanks to the bedlam you've caused our guild.
訳それに、お前らがギルドに起こした大騒ぎのおかげでな。
表現the bedlam one has caused〜が引き起こした大混乱
💡 bedlam はロンドンの旧精神病院の名に由来し、「大混乱・てんやわんや」を表す文語的な語です。
例文
The manager apologized for the bedlam his decision had caused.
部長は自分の決定が招いた大混乱を謝罪した。

表現a coordinated team attack連携した集団攻撃
💡 coordinated は「調整された・連携した」。a coordinated ~ で「足並みをそろえた〜」。作戦・対応・キャンペーンなどに使います。

There's an air of confidence that comes with youth.

💡 air は「空気」から「雰囲気・様子」。an air of ~ で「〜の雰囲気」。an air of mystery（謎めいた雰囲気）なども使えます。

訳だが、それがお前の実力を示しているわけではない。
表現not indicative of ~〜を示すものではない
💡 indicative of ~ は「〜を示す・〜の兆候である」。論文や報告書でよく使う改まった語で、not で「〜の証拠にはならない」です。
例文
One bad test score is not indicative of your ability.
一度の悪い点数が、あなたの能力を示すわけではない。

訳さっさと片付けるぞ。
表現make quick work of ~〜をさっさと片付ける
💡 make quick work of ~ は「〜を手早く処理する・あっさり倒す」。作業にも対戦相手にも使えるこなれた表現です。

I knew you were full of bravado but I didn't expect you to fall to your knees so soon.

💡 bravado は「虚勢・強がり」。bravery（勇敢さ）と違い、見せかけの強さを皮肉って言う語です。

〈上級〉備える・理解を示す・茶化す・跳ね上がる・悟る——大人の会話に効く言い回しを5個。Must-Know とは別枠の実用表現です。

第118話の実際のセリフから、書き言葉でも通用する上級構文を3つ。
As much as I hate ~, I'll admit that …（〜するのは嫌だが、…だと認めよう）As much as I hate being defeated, I'll admit that it taught me a thing or two.
負けるのは大嫌いだが、おかげで学んだこともあると認めてやる。
As much as I hate ~ は「〜するのは大嫌いだが」という譲歩。I'll admit that … でしぶしぶ認める本音を続けます。
他にも使える例：
I doubt we'd ever be able to ~（〜できる日など来ないだろう）I doubt we'd ever be able to understand.
私たちには到底理解できないだろうな。
I doubt ~ は「〜とは思えない」。would ever be able to で「いつか〜できるとは」と可能性を強く否定します。
他にも使える例：
It's only right that ~（〜するのが筋だ）It's only right that someone with the guild's emblem take him down!
ギルドの紋章を持つ者が奴を倒すのが筋ってもんだ！
It's only right that ~ は「〜するのが当然だ・筋だ」。that 節の動詞が原形（take）になる仮定法現在にも注目です。
