第153話の実際のセリフから、押さえたい文法を3つ。
It seems ~, but it's actually …(〜に見えて、実は…だ)From what I understand, it seems easy to get but it's actually very hard to obtain.
私の理解では、手に入りそうで、実はとても手に入りにくいものなの。
It seems ~ but it's actually … は「一見〜だが実は…」。見た目と実際の違いを言います。
他にも使える例:
If only ~ had been able to …(〜が…できていたらよかったのに)If only Hades had been able to see it that way, too.
ハデスもそういうふうに考えられていたらよかったのに。
If only + 過去完了 は「〜でありさえしたら」という過去への残念な思いです。
他にも使える例:
There's something I probably should've mentioned ~(〜に言っておくべきことがあった)There's something I probably should've mentioned before we came here.
ここへ来る前に、お伝えしておくべきことがありました。
should have + 過去分詞 は「〜すべきだった」。probably を添えて言いそびれたことをやんわり切り出します。
