第157話の実際のセリフから、押さえたい文法を3つ。
PATTERN 1
Don't think we didn't try to ~!（〜しようとしなかったと思わないでくれ）
Don't think we didn't try to stop him!
止めようとしなかったわけじゃないからな！
Don't think (that) ~ は「〜と思わないで」。二重否定で「ちゃんとやった」と弁明します。
他にも使える例：
- Don't think we didn't try to call you!（電話する）
- Don't think I didn't try to warn you!（警告する）
PATTERN 2
If only ~ wasn't …（〜が…でなければなあ）
If only Wendy wasn't out of commission.
ウェンディが動けたらなあ。
If only ~ は「〜でさえあればいいのに」という現在の願望。wasn't は口語で weren't の代わりです。
他にも使える例：
- If only it wasn't raining.（雨）
- If only the store wasn't closed.（店が閉まっている）
PATTERN 3
Sounds like ~, so that means …（どうやら〜みたいだから、つまり…だ）
Sounds like in this game the smaller you are the better, so that means it's down to me or Yuka.
この競技は小さいほうが有利みたいだから、つまり俺かユウカってことだな。
Sounds like ~ は「〜のようだ」。so that means ~ で結論を導きます。
他にも使える例：
