Natsu tells Gajeel to step aside and fights Sting and Rogue alone, getting stronger the harder they push him. 第175話の実際のセリフから、押さえたい文法を3つ。

見ていたいのはやまやまだが、あいつらを捕まえないと!
As much as I'd like to ~ は「〜したいのは山々だが」と残念さを添えて断る形です。
他にも使える例:
I'll bet when ~, … (きっと〜したら…だろう)I'll bet when he does, he's not gonna be happy about all this.
きっと戻ってきたら、ご機嫌ななめだろうな。
I'll bet ~ は「きっと〜だ」。when 節でそのときの様子を予想します。
他にも使える例:
You told me that ~ was a great place to start …(〜は…を始めるいい出発点だって言ってくれた)You told me that zero points was a great place to start an epic comeback.
0点は大逆転を始めるのにちょうどいいって言ってくれたよね。
a great place to start ~ は「〜を始めるのにいい出発点」。励ましの言葉としても使えます。
