Episode Summary
Mirajane fights Seilah and remembers her childhood, when the people of her village turned against her after she gained demonic magic, and how Makarov welcomed her family into Fairy Tail. With Elfman's help she turns the tables on Seilah. Meanwhile, Mard Geer, the Underworld King, scolds Kyoka for bringing humans into the fortress. After Warren reconnects the guild by telepathy, Mard Geer interrupts and unleashes Alegria, a living cube that swallows the wizards one by one. In the end, Lucy finds herself alone, but she refuses to give up on her friends.

💡 underestimate は「過小評価する」。反対は overestimate です。

💡 undoing は「破滅のもと」。警告によく使う硬い語です。

💡 abide は否定文で「我慢する」。stand より硬い言い方です。

💡 grasp は「つかむこと・支配」。手の届く範囲の意味もあります。

表現one's back is to the wall追いつめられている
💡 壁を背にしている→「追いつめられている」。with one's back to the wall の形もあります。

第247話の実際のセリフから、押さえたい文法を3つ。
The only reason ~ in the first place is because ~（そもそも〜したのは、〜だからにほかならない）The only reason she got possessed in the first place is because she was trying to help.
そもそも姉ちゃんが取りつかれたのは、助けようとしたからだ。
in the first place は「そもそも」。原因をはっきりさせる形です。
他にも使える例：
Once you've ~, you can ~ any time you want.（一度〜すれば、いつでも〜できる）Once you've controlled someone with it, you can do it any time you want.
一度それで相手を操れば、いつでも好きなときに操れる。
Once ~ は「いったん〜すると」。条件と結果を示します。
他にも使える例：
The word may mean ~ to some people, but to me it's something different entirely.（その言葉は〜を意味する人もいるが、私にとってはまったく別物だ）The word may mean happiness to some people, but to me it's something different entirely.
その言葉を幸福と取る者もいるが、私にとってはまったく別のものだ。
may ~, but … で「〜かもしれないが…」と譲歩して自分の見方を出します。
