After his defeat, Zeref admits he never foresaw this outcome, and Mavis finally speaks honestly about the feelings she held for him. Their long story comes to a quiet close. Lucy's rewriting of the Book of E.N.D. saves Natsu, and the war ends. Jellal learns that Anna and Ichiya sealed Acnologia away, and he is told to live with meaning. Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Happy and the others head back to the guild hall, talking about their plans, but then Natsu suddenly disappears.
