Episode Summary

Years earlier, a kindly old wizard gave his life shielding a slave girl in the tower, awakening her magic, while the boy she led a revolt to rescue heard a voice in the dark calling itself an ancient black wizard, took the tower for himself, and sent her away under threat. In the present, the council edges towards its vote, a bitter childhood friend accuses the swordswoman of betrayal, and another reveals he never stopped believing in her.
