Episode Summary

A card-reading wizard lets herself into a celestial-spirit mage's bath and announces that she is thinking of quitting the guild, just as the master names eight candidates for the annual promotion trial on its sacred island. A week of partner-hunting and frantic training follows, and on a snowy night the would-be quitter admits that this is her fifth attempt and will be her last, before her friend offers to go with her.
