Episode Summary

Winter break is coming, and so are finals. Kagami tells the story of her father sleeping past the last stop and riding back and forth all morning, which turns into a debate about warm train seats, strangers leaning on you, and why five more minutes is the perfect amount to ask for. Konata reveals she still gets presents from Santa, the girls argue over whether a saint who enters houses at night deserves the credit, and Miyuki explains how her own research ended her belief early. Christmas Eve finds Konata in a Santa outfit at the cafe and her father waiting up with tea. On Lucky Channel, Minoru Shiraishi finally gets to introduce himself, and Akira reminds him how replaceable he is.

when it comes right down to it / stay a step ahead of ~ / burst ~'s bubble

この 上級版 では、when it comes right down to it / burst ~'s bubble / buy into ~ / anything but ~ / get out of hand のようなネイティブらしい慣用句を中心に据えました。

burst ~'s bubble と Needless to say で現実を、buy into ~ と living proof で信念を——議論や雑談で、そのまま使えます。

There's got to be a limit to ~ / I wouldn't go around ~ing if I were you.
