Episode Summary
Second term begins and Konata starts talking like a lady from a butler anime. Miyuki breaks her glasses by sitting on them and has to borrow notes. Kagami gets a lecture on why she is always late. A pot of curry is left out overnight and goes moldy. And a phone gets destroyed in the wash before anyone has learned to reply to a text.

💡 It feels like forever since ~ は「〜してから永遠みたいに長く感じる」＝「すごく久しぶり」。再会のあいさつにも使えます。

💡 picture は動詞で「思い描く」。even を入れて「まったく想像できない」と強調します。

訳さあ、休みは終わったわよ。ぼーっとしてる場合じゃないからね。
表現now's not the time to ~今は〜している場合じゃない
💡 Now is not the time to ~ は「今は〜するときではない」。気持ちを切り替えさせるときの定番です。

表現May I borrow ~?〜をお借りしてもいいですか？
💡 May I ~? はCan I ~? より丁寧な許可の求め方。borrow（借りる）とlend（貸す）の区別も大切です。

ちょっとペンをお借りしてもいいですか？

訳お礼なんていいよ。喜んで手伝うから。
表現We're happy to help.喜んで手伝うよ
💡 be happy to ~ は「喜んで〜する」。No need to thank us.（お礼はいらない）とセットで使うと自然です。

訳なんで遅れたの？寝坊？
表現sleep in寝坊する・朝寝する
💡 sleep in は「（わざと・つい）遅くまで寝る」。oversleep（うっかり寝過ごす）とはニュアンスが少し違います。

It's Sunday, so I'm going to sleep in.
日曜だから、ゆっくり寝てるつもり。
Since Dad's put me in charge of cooking the dinner tonight, I got to go grocery shopping.
訳今夜はお父さんに夕飯係を任されたから、買い物に行かなきゃ。
表現put ~ in charge of ~〜に…を任せる
💡 in charge of ~ は「〜の担当で」。put 人 in charge of ~ で「人に〜を任せる」という職場でも頻出の形です。

訳カレーって普通、一晩で傷まないよね。
表現go bad腐る
💡 go bad は「（食べ物が）腐る・傷む」。go + 形容詞は悪い方向への変化を表すことが多い形です。
例文
The milk went bad because I left it out.
出しっぱなしにしたら牛乳が悪くなった。
Oh, well, that's because Tsukasa and I always take turns making the lunches.
訳それはね、つかさと私が交代でお弁当を作ってるからよ。
表現take turns交代でする
💡 take turns ~ing は「交代で〜する」。turn は「順番」で、It's your turn.（君の番）も同じ語です。
例文
We take turns doing the dishes.
うちは交代で皿洗いをしている。
That reminds me, there's this girl in my class who's got a ton of straps hanging from her phone.
訳それで思い出したけど、クラスにケータイにストラップをたくさん付けてる子がいてさ。
表現That reminds me.それで思い出した
💡 remind は「思い出させる」。That reminds me. は話題を広げるときの便利な切り出しです。

Why don't you ~ or something?（〜でもしたら？）…why don't you get cable or something?
ケーブルテレビでも入れたら？
or something は「〜とか」。Why don't you ~? と組んで軽く提案する口語の型です。
他にも使える例：
I never thought I'd be ~ing（〜する日が来るとは思わなかった）I never thought I'd be lending you my notes.
みゆきさんにノートを貸す日が来るとは思わなかった。
would be ~ing で「〜していることになるとは」。立場が逆転した驚きを表す型です。

Can you believe how much ~?（どれだけ〜か信じられる？）Can you believe how much spam you get these days?
最近の迷惑メールの多さ、信じられる？
how much + 名詞 で量の多さを強調。Can you believe ~? と組んで驚き・あきれを共有します。
