Episode Summary
The rescue is quietly credited to the family's swordswoman, the boy is formally welcomed into the household by a very loud grandfather, and lessons finally begin: magic comes easily, arithmetic less so, until the swordswoman admits she once went hungry for want of basic maths. Swordplay practice exposes everyone's weak spots, and a day off in the city turns into a handy lesson in prices, pocket money and a flying castle overhead.

💡 stay out of ~ は「〜に首を突っ込まない」。Stay out of it. は「口出ししないで」です。

💡 take credit (for ~) は「（〜を）自分の手柄にする」。横取りの意味でもよく使います。

表現make sense筋が通る・わかる
💡 make sense は「意味が通る・納得できる」。Does that make sense? は説明後の確認の定番です。

表現get ~ under control〜を手なずける
💡 get ~ under control は「〜を制御下に置く」。Everything is under control. は「すべて順調」です。

訳それで食料もなく立ち往生する羽目になった。
表現wind up ~結局〜になる
💡 wind up ~ は「最後には〜になる」。過去形はwound（ワウンド）と読みます。

💡 hold back は「控える・手加減する・遠慮する」。涙をこらえるときにも使います。

💡 save up (for ~) は「（〜のために）お金を貯める」。目標に向けて少しずつのニュアンスです。

💡 change the subject は「話題を変える」。Don't change the subject. は「話をそらさないで」です。

I wish you were ~ は仮定法で「〜だったらいいのに」という相手への願望の型です。
他にも使える例：
Have you ever ~?（〜したことはある？）Have you ever found yourself in trouble because you didn't know how to do math?
計算ができなくて困ったことはある？
Have you ever ~? は経験を聞く現在完了の型。found yourself ~ で「気づけば〜」です。

Would you mind ~ing? はていねいな依頼の型。OK なら No, not at all. と答えます。
