~ faster than I thought（思ったより速く〜）

思ったより早く成長してるみたいだ。
比較級 + than I thought は「思っていたより〜」。予想とのずれを表します。
他にも使える例：

Why don't we ~? は「〜しようよ」という提案。just ~ instead で代案になります。
