Episode Summary

Tsuyu swallows the handcuffs so that Dark Shadow can deliver them to Ectoplasm, and Iida launches Ojiro through the gate before Power Loader can bury them both. Yaoyorozu, quietly deferring to Todoroki since the sports festival, freezes until he admits he voted for her as class rep; her plan of mannequins, a catapult and a shape-memory alloy then wraps up Aizawa, who may well have let it. Uraraka, meanwhile, is caught in Thirteen's black hole.

🔥 Must-Know Expressions 10 expressions |

01

make a plan beforehand

  • I'm glad we made a plan beforehand.
  • We made a plan beforehand, so it went smoothly.

02

call ~ back

  • Call Dark Shadow back. I have something for you to give him.
  • I'll call you back in five minutes.

Can you call back later?

03

work together

  • We can still make it, as long as we work together.
  • The two teams worked together on the fix.

04

close one's eyes

  • Todoroki, close your eyes!
  • Close your eyes for a second.

05

hurry up

  • C'mon. Hurry up.
  • Hurry up or we'll miss it.

Could we speed this up?

06

look out

  • Asui! Look out!
  • Look out — there's a step there.

Watch out! とほぼ同じで、look out for ~ と for を足せば「〜に注意する」。

07

stay close to ~

  • Just stay close to me until then.
  • Stay close to the guide in the cave.

stay close to ~ は距離の話、be close to ~ は「親しい」にもなります。

08

spot ~

  • Once we spot him, I'll draw him to me.
  • I spotted a mistake on page two.

09

keep watching

  • Keep watching, you'll see.
  • Keep watching — it gets better.

You'll see.

10

run out of time

  • Will you keep this up until time runs out?
  • We ran out of time before the last item.

(We ran out of time.)

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

How much farther until ~?(あとどれくらいで〜?)

How much farther until I'm at the gate?

How much farther ~?

PATTERN 2

Should I ~, or …?(〜すべきか、それとも…か)

Should I save Todoroki? Or run?

Should I call, or is email better?

PATTERN 3

I'm glad we ~(〜しておいてよかった)

I'm glad we made a plan beforehand.

I'm glad you asked.

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use expression

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

I don't blame you.

I don't blame you for asking.

この 中級版 では、make a plan beforehand / work together / stay close to ~ / call ~ back を中心に据えました。
