Episode Summary

Everyone is going to camp after all — the threat of summer school was, Aizawa admits, a logical deception — so Class 1-A spends its day off at the mall hunting for suitcases and bug spray. Izuku, briefly alone, is buttonholed by Shigaraki, who keeps a hand at his throat while asking why the world adores the Hero Killer, and leaves convinced it is all All Might's fault. At the police station, All Might admits he cannot save everyone.

🔥 Must-Know Expressions 10 expressions |

01

approach the task at hand

  • We were interested in observing how you each worked together and approached the task at hand.
  • She approached the task at hand without a word of complaint.

02

get ~ on edge

  • That was just to get you on edge.
  • The countdown got everyone on edge.

03

a logical deception

  • That was just a logical deception we used.
  • They called it a logical deception; the staff called it a lie.

deceive(欺く)/deceptive(紛らわしい)も同じ family。

04

lose faith in ~

  • Aren't you afraid we'll lose faith in you?
  • People lose faith in a system that keeps changing.

have faith in ~ なら「〜を信じている」。

05

factor ~ into the equation

  • Perhaps it's a mistake not to factor utility into the equation.
  • We didn't factor shipping into the equation.

06

hold it together

  • You did a great job holding it together when so many lives were on the line.
  • She held it together until the meeting ended.

07

lose one's cool

  • Most people would've panicked and lost their cool in that situation.
  • He lost his cool halfway through the call.

08

all the more reason to ~

  • But that's all the more reason to stand tall and smile.
  • It's late — all the more reason to start now.

後ろは to 不定詞(all the more reason to wait)。

09

take drastic measures

  • The school should be ready to take drastic measures.
  • The city took drastic measures to cut water use.

take measures / adopt measures

10

be cut out for ~

  • I told you before that you weren't cut out for it.
  • I'm not sure I'm cut out for management.

for のあとは名詞(cut out for this job)。

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

Otherwise, ~ would have …(そうでなければ…

Otherwise, you never would have stood a chance.

PATTERN 2

The stronger the light shines, the greater the darkness.

be 動詞は省略できるので、The sooner, the better.

PATTERN 3

whether they be A or B(A であれ B であれ)

A flicker in people's hearts, whether they be a hero or a villain.

whether A or B

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use expression

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

hold it together

この 上級版 では、a logical deception / hold it together / all the more reason to ~ / take drastic measures を中心に据えました。
