Episode Summary

The whale is finally in front of them, and the plan works — for about a minute. The magic scatters, the beast does not fall, and the fog starts taking people out of the world entirely: not killing them, erasing them, names and memories and all. Meanwhile an old swordsman keeps swinging at a monster he has been waiting forty years to meet, and the story keeps cutting back to a girl in a field of flowers who asked him, long ago, why he carried a sword at all.

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

some ~, and others …(〜な人もいれば、…

Some people can seem to resist it, and others can't.

Everyone ~ が全体をまとめるのに対し、some ~, and others … some ~, others …

PATTERN 2

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

Snap out of it! / Here it comes! / cover one's ears / hang on to ~ / Did that do it?

some ~, and others …(〜な人もいれば、…
