- You've got some nerve showing up here.
How dare you! You've got some nerve. うしろに -ing を足せば中身も言えます——You've got some nerve asking me that.
02
not tell a soul about ~
- Just alive enough to swear you won't tell a soul about this place!
- I haven't told a soul about it.
keep it secret が守秘なのに対し、not tell a soul は人数での強調——ゼロだと数えて見せているのが違い。 There wasn't a soul in sight.(人っ子ひとりいなかった) も同じ使い方です。
03
I'm sorry for interrupting, but ~
- I'm sorry for interrupting, but you just seemed to--
- I'm sorry for interrupting, but there's a call for you.
Excuse me. I'm sorry for interrupting
- You don't wanna believe me, that's your call.
- Stay or go — that's your call.
Do what you want. It's your call.
05
It took you long enough.
- So you're finally back? It took you long enough.
- It took you long enough — I ordered already.
You're late. It took you long enough.
- We've got somebody who's getting ready to face the trial head-on!
- She faced the criticism head-on.

すでにつながっている状態は stay in touch、切れているところからつなぐのが get in touch。別れぎわの Let's stay in touch.
- But more than that, it's a huge relief to me.
- Hearing that was a huge relief.
I'm relieved. It's a huge relief.
- What am I supposed to do with all this pent-up anger inside?
- Years of pent-up anger came out at once.
pent は pen(囲い込む)の過去分詞。
- I don't want Ram givin' me hell later on.
- My boss gave me hell about the deadline.

🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
Just so you know, ~(言っておくけど〜)
Just so you know, I'm not going to let you lay a single finger on him!
so (that) you know
- Just so you know, the kitchen closes at nine.(言っておくと、厨房は9時までです)
- Just so you know, I'm not upset.(念のため言うと、怒ってはいません)
PATTERN 2
It's only natural for 人 to + 動詞の原形(〜するのは当たり前だ)
It's only natural for you to feel frightened.
Don't worry. It's only natural for 人 to ~ は承認——おかしくないと言ってあげているのが違い。
- It's only natural for him to be nervous.(彼が緊張するのは当たり前です)
- It's only natural for people to ask.(みんなが聞きたがるのは当然です)
PATTERN 3
If I remember correctly, ~(記憶が確かなら〜)
If I remember correctly, you bowed your head to us the last time you saw us, too.
correctly の代わりに right でもよく、If I remember right, ~ はより口語的。
- If I remember correctly, we agreed on Thursday.(記憶が確かなら、木曜で合意したはずです)
- If I remember right, she's from Sapporo.(たしか彼女は札幌の出身です)
🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase
★ TODAY'S PHRASE
That's your call.
- You don't wanna believe me, that's your call.
- Stay or go — that's your call.
- It's your call, but I'd wait a day.
Do what you want. It's your call.
