Episode Summary

The trial sends him home: a mountain of peas at breakfast, a father who wrestles him awake, a mother who hates the same foods he does. Nobody asks why he stopped going to school until he asks them to. What he gets back is not a lecture but a walk by the river, a joke, and two people telling him to do his best in his own way — and then it is time to say the goodbye he never got to say.

Suit yourself. / Dig in. / What's the occasion?

🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

Bet you weren't expecting ~(〜

Well, would you look at that? Bet you weren't expecting a mountain of peas.

Surprised?

PATTERN 2

It's not like this is ~ or anything(別に〜というわけでもない)

It's not like this is a special day or anything.

This isn't special. It's not like ~ or anything

PATTERN 3

Why should I + 動詞の原形 ~ when …?(…

But why should I do that when the whole family could sit down together?

I don't want to ~ が意向なのに対し、Why should I ~ when …?

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

Suit yourself.

Okay. Does Friday suit you?(金曜はご都合いかがですか)の suit と同じ語です。 紛らわしいのがUp to you.。
