🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

I was wondering if you would ~(〜していただけないかと思って)

If you don't mind, I was wondering if you would help me fold the laundry.

Could you ~? I was wondering if you would ~ はさらに遠慮つき——まだ頼んでいない形なのが違い。

PATTERN 2

Would it be better if

Would it be better if I'd stayed locked up in my room forever?

Should I have ~? Would it be better if ~? I'd stayed は I had stayedの短縮で、起きなかったことを表します。

PATTERN 3

Could you + 動詞の原形 ~ for me?(〜してくれる)

Could you head toward those flowers for me?

Could you ~? が依頼なのに対し、Could you ~ for me?

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

every step of the way

step が「一歩」、the way が「その道のり」。 面白いのは、反対向きにも使えるところです——He fought it every step of the way.(彼は終始それに抵抗した)。 紛らわしいのがall the way。
