3 patterns
PATTERN 1
If it wasn't for ~, I wouldn't ...(〜
The two of you saved me. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you.
Thank you for ~ がお礼なのに対し、If it wasn't for ~ は無かった場合の話——どれだけ大きいかが出るのが違い。If it weren't for ~ のほうが文法としては正式ですが、会話では wasn't が普通です。
- If it wasn't for the rain, we'd have finished.(雨がなければ、終わっていました)
- If it wasn't for her, I'd have given up.(彼女がいなければ、諦めていました)
PATTERN 2
I couldn't trouble Miss Beatrice with such a thing when she's so busy.
I don't want to ask.

🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase
★ TODAY'S PHRASE
take ~ in stride
- You didn't get bent out of shape. You smiled and took it in stride, right?
- She took the criticism in stride.
- He takes every change in stride.
in を落とせません——take it with stride とは言いません。
