Why are you here? What brings you here today?

- Sorry to kill the mood, but we should head home.
Sorry to kill the mood, but ~ と前置きにすると角が立ちません。

🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
It's been + 期間 + since + 主語 + 過去形(〜してから…になる)
It's already been a year since we entered into our contract.
We made a contract a year ago. が起点から言う形なのに対し、It's been ~ since …
- It's been three years since I last saw her.(最後に会ってから三年になる)
- It's been a month since we moved in.(引っ越してから一か月だ)
PATTERN 2
You had better get your butt back here soon, cat spirit!
否定は had better not ~。
- You had better take your passport.(パスポートは持っていったほうがいい)
- We had better not be late.(遅れないほうがいい)
PATTERN 3
Is it just me, or ~?(気のせいかな、それとも〜)
And is it just me, or do you look cuter today, Beako?
Don't you think ~? Is it just me, or ~? Is it just me, or is it cold in here?
- Is it just me, or is it cold in here?(気のせいかな、ここ寒くない?)
- Is it just me, or has this gotten harder?(気のせいか、これ難しくなってない?)
🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase
★ TODAY'S PHRASE
What brings you ~?
- Anyway, what brings you all the way out here, Mimi?
- What brings you to Tokyo?
- What brings you here today?
Why are you here? What brings you ~? 使える幅が広いのが便利なところ——What brings you here today? What brings you to Tokyo? 過去のことなら What brought you here? What are you here for?。 What are you here for?
