🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
How am I supposed to + 動詞の原形?(どうやって〜すればいいの)
Now, how am I supposed to share the rabbit I just caught with a little girl?
How am I supposed to ~? 素直に訊くなら How can I ~?
- How am I supposed to finish this by five?(これを五時までにどう終わらせるんですか)
- How am I supposed to know that?(そんなこと、分かるわけがないでしょう)
PATTERN 2
No matter what happens, …(何が起きても)
No matter what happens, you've gotta get those wives out of his kingdom!
If anything happens が条件なのに対し、No matter what happens は全部込み——例外を置かないのが違い。no matter + 疑問詞の形で、no matter how / who / when も同じ作り。
- No matter what happens, call me first.(何があっても、まず私に電話してください)
- No matter how long it takes, we finish it.(どれだけかかっても、やり切ります)
PATTERN 3
Wouldn't this be the most ideal opportunity for ~?(これ以上の好機はないのでは)
Wouldn't this be the most ideal opportunity for a new song?
This is a good chance. が断定なのに対し、Wouldn't this be ~? Wouldn't の答え方に注意——賛成なら Yes, it would.
- Wouldn't this be a good time to ask?(訊くにはちょうどいい時ではありませんか)
- Wouldn't that be easier for everyone?(そのほうが皆に楽ではありませんか)

★ TODAY'S PHRASE
be out of breath
- I can't believe I'm already out of breath.
- I was out of breath after two flights of stairs.
- Give me a second — I'm out of breath.
out of ~ は「切れている」。 catch one's breath で「息を整える」——Let me catch my breath.
