🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

In light of ~, …(〜を踏まえて)

But now, in light of the princess having been abducted, the leader must act.

PATTERN 2

You needn't +

You needn't worry about me.

You don't have to ~ が口語なのに対し、You needn't ~ は硬い書き言葉——改まった場に向くのが違い。

PATTERN 3

If I'm not the one who ~, who will?(自分がやらなければ誰がやる)

If I'm not the one who does it, who will?

I have to do it. If I'm not the one who ~, who will? who will?

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

bring oneself to ~

don't want to ~ が「やりたくない」と、好き嫌いの話なのに対し、can't bring oneself to ~ は動けなさ——やろうとはしているところが違います。 だから、ほぼ必ず否定形で使います——I can't bring myself to ~ かI couldn't bring myself to ~。肯定で I brought myself to ~ とは、まず言いません。 紛らわしいのがcan't be bothered to ~。

★★★★★ 5.0 / 5
