🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

It's been so long since ~(〜してからずいぶん経つ)

It's been so long since anyone's done that!

I haven't ~ for a long time が自分の話なのに対し、It's been so long since ~ は出来事の側——主語が時間なのが違い。 It's been a while.

PATTERN 2

What makes you say that?(どうしてそう思うの)

Why? What makes you say that?

PATTERN 3

I was surprised が反応なのに対し、I never imagined ~ は予想の外——考えたことすらなかったのが違い。

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

stick together

過去形は stuck(stick-stuck-stuck)で、綴りを間違えやすいので注意。

見出しはstick together / in one piece / act innocent / skip a beat / not half bad のように、身内どうしの言い回しを中心に据えました。

It's been so long since ~(〜してからずいぶん経つ)、What makes you say that?(どうしてそう思うの)、I never imagined ~(思ってもみなかった)——時間の空きを言う・根拠を訊く・驚きを置く型が並んでいます。What makes you say that?
