Episode Summary
The fourth night finally has a face, and it is one Subaru trusted. He wakes into another loop with nothing left to try and pushes everyone away, then strikes a bargain with the girl in the forbidden library to keep him alive until morning. He survives — and finds that surviving alone has cost the very people he wanted to save. Driven out and cornered in the forest, he stops running, works out what he actually knows that no one else does, and decides how he means to use the life he keeps being handed back.

- Don't touch her! Keep your hands off.
- Keep your hands off my things.
Don't touch it. Hands off!

Everything's gonna be just fine.
- Everything's gonna be just fine now.
- Take a breath — everything's gonna be just fine.
Don't worry. Everything's gonna be just fine.
- Get out of the way!
- Get out of the way, I'm carrying something hot.
Move. Get out of the way! the way が「通り道」。
- If you can save her, I beg you, please do so.
- I beg you, just listen for one minute.
Please. が丁寧さなのに対し、I beg you.
- I have no memory of any of that.
- She has no memory of the accident.

- Subaru, are you sure you're okay?
- Are you sure you're okay to drive?
Are you okay? Are you sure you're okay? Are you sure ~?
- Hold out your hand.
- Hold out your hand and close your eyes.
Give me your hand. が握るためなのに対し、Hold out your hand.
- There you are. Where have you been?
- Where have you been? I called twice.
Where did you go? が行き先を聞くのに対し、Where have you been?
- Stay back.
- Stay back, it's not safe here.
Go away. Stand back.

🎯 Grammar Patterns
3 patterns
PATTERN 1
I'm not sure what ~(〜がよく分からないけれど)
I'm not sure what's happening, but I want you to keep me safe.
I don't know. I'm not sure what ~ は but で続く——頼みや提案の前置きになるのが違い。what のうしろは文の形で、語順は疑問文にしません(× I'm not sure what is happening → 主語が what なのでこの形は正しい)。
- I'm not sure what he meant, but it sounded serious.(何を言いたかったのか分からないけど、深刻そうだった)
- I'm not sure what to do next.(次に何をすべきか分かりません)
PATTERN 2
Despite all this, I'm choosing to trust him.
- I choose to believe her.(私は彼女を信じることにする)
- They chose to stay quiet.(彼らはあえて黙っていることを選んだ)
PATTERN 3
What is it (that) you + 動詞 ~?(いったい何を〜しているの?)
What is it you think you know about them?
What do you know? What is it you know? It is ~ that … 問い詰めにも、ていねいな確認にもなる——What is it you'd like to know?
- What is it you want from me?(いったい私に何を求めているの)
- What is it that bothers you?(気にかかっているのは何ですか)
🎯 Today's Phrase
Native daily-use phrase
★ TODAY'S PHRASE
make it through ~
- We made it through the week.
- Did I make it through the fourth night?
- She made it through the interview just fine.
through のうしろは期間や出来事——make it through the night / the day / the winter。
