🎯 Grammar Patterns 3 patterns

PATTERN 1

If I had to make a guess, I'd say ~(当てずっぽうで言えば〜だ)

If I had to make a guess, I'd say there's four.

Maybe it's four. If I had to make a guess had to / I'd say

PATTERN 2

the more ~, the more …(〜すればするほど…)

The more you say, the more it sounds like the trial in the graveyard.

because ~ が因果なのに対し、the more ~, the more …

PATTERN 3

Let's say ~(仮に〜だとしよう)

Let's say something were to happen right here and now.

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

right off the bat

置き場所は自由——Right off the bat, he said no. と文頭でも、He said no right off the bat. 同じ意味の言い方としてはfrom the get-go(最初から)やstraight away(すぐに)が近く、right off the bat はアメリカ英語寄りです。紛らわしいのがoff the bat を off the cuff(即興で)と混ぜること。

見出しはright off the bat / come and go as you please / keep it together / put ~ aside / be curious to ~ のように、そのまま口に出せる言い回しを中心に据えました。

If I had to make a guess, I'd say ~(当てずっぽうで言えば)、the more ~, the more …(〜すればするほど)、Let's say ~(仮に〜だとしよう)——柔らかく答える・比例を言う・条件を置く型が並んでいます。The sooner, the better.

stick one's nose in ~ / show ~ who's boss / Here goes.
