PATTERN 1

As far as I know, ~(私の知る限りでは)

As far as I know, people who have temporary memory loss tend to revert.

As far as I know, ~ は限定——外れても責任を負わないと断るのが違い。as far as が「〜の及ぶ範囲まで」。As far as I can tell(見たかぎりでは)、As far as I'm aware(承知しているかぎり)と言い換えられます。

PATTERN 2

This is strange. What kind of ~ is this? What kind of person does that?

🎯 Today's Phrase Native daily-use phrase

★ TODAY'S PHRASE

a knack for ~

You have a knack for this. for のあとは名詞か ~ing——a knack for numbers / a knack for making people laugh。もう一つの形が get the knack of ~。こちらは of で、「コツをつかむ」——It takes a week to get the knack of it. 紛らわしいのがa habit(癖)。
