Subaru stops Shaula from asking to be ordered to die and promises to save her, then splits the team up: Emilia goes to support Julius, while Subaru, Beatrice, and Meili take on the Mabeasts and the giant scorpion. Julius faces Reid again, accepts the knight he chose to become, and forms a new contract with his spirits. Anastasia comes out to watch her knight, Julius defeats Reid, and Emilia reaches the top floor, where the dragon Volcanica awaits.
