Episode Summary

Takeshi plays his Chopin as a declaration of war on Kosei, then walks off to find his old rival mildly complimentary. During the interval two teachers trade pleasantries with knives in them, and we learn that Emi decided to become a pianist after hearing Kosei's first recital as a small child. Then she takes the stage and pours two years of anger and loneliness into her étude, every note a rejection of the robot he became.
