Episode Summary

Kaori is rushed into intensive care, and Kosei, convinced that music only ever takes away the people he loves, stops playing altogether. On a snowy hospital roof she tells him she is having the operation, and that it is his fault she wants to live, so he had better fight too. On the day of the finals, as her surgery begins, he walks on stage looking dreadful and plays Chopin's first Ballade for everyone who brought him there, and for her.
